Kaizer Chiefs second in command, Doctor Khumalo was understandable disappointed following a 2-1 defeat against Santos on Sunday, 15 April 2012 but kept his head up insisting to kaizerchiefs.com on Sunday evening that the team will turn things around.

The Glamour Boys dominated the proceedings in the first half creating numerous chances and it looked like they were destined to for the first three points since the changes in the Technical Department early in April.

The lapse of concentration saw Santos scoring two quick goals after the restart put the boys from Phefeni on the back foot before substitute, George Lebese pulled one back.

The defeat left Chiefs in sixth position in the Absa Premiership log with 40 points after 25 games.

“Congratulations to Santos for the hard fought win. We gave away silly goals at a crucial stage of the game. We came back strongly in the last 20 minutes following the substitutions that were made.

We are disappointed that we lost the game but for us we need to go back to the training pitch and try rectifying our mistakes. It is not over until it’s over,” said Khumalo.

“We knew that Santos was going to make our lives difficult playing long and diagonal balls. Maritzburg United did the same midweek. We are confident of turning things around; it is just a matter of time.

The legendary midfielder added that there is no ‘crisis’ in the team; “We are going through a phase and there is no crisis in the team. The players are working hard on the pitch to turn things around all we need to do is to soldier and things will get better,”
