Abia Nale has told kaizerchiefs.com that he has put the past behind him and is looking forward to a ‘fresh start’ when he and his teammates report at Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena on Tuesday morning ahead of the preseason.

Nale made a huge impression after joining the team back in January 2009 but he failed to hold on to a regular start in the team despite being one of the talented players in the squad.

Last season he played a few games and showed glimpses of his old self; “I have put the past behind me and I am looking forward to a good season with the team.

I made sure I switched off a little bit during the break spending most of my time with my family. I am refreshed and am now looking forward to meeting my teammates on Tuesday. Life is too precious to think about negative stuff,” said Nale.

‘Mkhutuzi’ as the player is affectionately known to the adoring fans made 11 appearances in both league and cup games last season; “I am hoping for more game time this season. I always give my best in training and it will not be different this season. I am hoping to stay injury free, I will work hard and the rest will follow,” added Nale.
