George Maluleka had a calf muscle strain and was rested as a precaution when Kaizer Chiefs beat Highlands Park 1-0 in the weekend. ‘Mido’, as he is affectionately known to Amakhosi faithful, watched the proceedings from the Moses Mabhida Stadium stands. “It was a minor setback and George returned today to full training,” Club physiotherapist David Milner reports.

It was evident that the red-hot Siphiwe Tshabalala was a heavily man-marked in the Highlands Park game and, as a result, “Shabba came back with a knock. We will assess him for the next few days,” Milner adds.

Amakhosi will visit Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, 25 February 2017, without Lorenzo Gordinho, who picked up his fourth yellow card of the season in Durban. On the flip side, Erick Mathoho served his one match ban and will be available for selection against the Urban Warriors.

The match against Ajax Cape Town is taking place at Cape Town’s Athlone Stadium. Kick-off is at 20:15.
