“Mido is back in full training,” Kaizer Chiefs’ first team physiotherapist Dave Milner reports about George Maluleka, who was suffering from a calf strain. “He has responded well to the treatment and we are optimistic that he will go through training without a glitch.”

The midfielder missed the last two matches, against Golden Arrows (Nedbank Cup Last 32) and Cape Town City (Absa Premiership).

“Gustavo Páez is also back in full training,” Milner says. The Venezuelan striker missed the last two matches as well, but he has now shrugged off the hamstring injury.

With regard to Dumsani Zuma, Milner comments: “He is starting this week with light training.” Zuma was sidelined by a groin injury and, as a result, didn’t participate in the last two matches.

Erick Mathoho missed the Cape Town City match due to ankle injury, but he has since recovered and is taking part in full training.

Milner also has an update on Emmanuel Letlotlo’s knee injury, “He will be undergoing a strength test and that will give us indication of his state of recovery.”

Kabelo Mahlasela, meanwhile, is off the crutches and walking without any assist. “He will see the specialist to give us an indication if he can start running on the pitch,” comments Milner.

Teenage Hadebe has a niggling ankle injury. “We are checking Teenage,” Chiefs physiotherapist concludes. “We will monitor him throughout the week.”
