The Kaizer Chiefs supporters decided the starting line-up for this afternoon’s Carling Black Label Champion Cup match against Orlando Pirates.

Coach Steve Komphela, however, still has five changes left to make, excluding the goalkeeper, who can also be substituted. The fans, meanwhile, will make the first change early in the second half (there are six in field substitutions in total).

The Amakhosi supporters did select as well Siphiwe Tshabalala, George Lebese and Emmanuel Letlotlo in the starting line-up, but they had to be withdrawn due to injury.

It resulted in George Maluleka moving into the voters’ XI, while Hendrick Ekstein and Joseph Molangoane come in for ‘Shabba’ and Lebese.

Chiefs’ new signings Philani Zulu, Bhongolethu Jayiya and Dumsani Zuma all make the bench, while Teenage Hadebe sustained a light injury in last week’s match against Township Rollers and will therefore not participate in this afternoon’s clash.

The fans have also decided that Amakhosi will play in a 4-4-2 formation.

The 2017 Carling Black Label Champion Cup will be the seventh time this showpiece fixture is held, the first coming in 2011.

The Glamour Boys won in 2013 and 2016, while the Buccaneers won the other four editions. Chiefs, however, have never lost the Carling Black Label Cup inside 90 minutes. Pirates’ wins all came after the taking of penalties.

If the game ends in a draw today, there will be no extra time and penalties will be taken immediately.

The match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will take place at FNB Stadium this Saturday afternoon (kick-off is at 15:30).

The clash will be refereed by Cedric Muvhali.
