Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral was a happy man following the 1-0 victory against Sundowns in a league match on Monday. But it was not only the three points which impressed the coach so much – the youngsters he has placed so much trust in the have never disappointed him.

Defender Nhlanhla Kubheka, who is highly rated by club chairman Kaizer "Chincha" Motaung, was given the task of closing down burly Nigerian striker Raphael Chukwu and he did that with great distinction. The Nigerian, who scored to opportunistic goals in the Super Bowl, was never allowed a birthing space by the youngsters.

Kubheka, whose style of play has been likened to that of Leeds and Bafana captain Lucas Radebe, was one of the few youngsters, under the age of 23 on the Chiefs team which collected maximum points at Loftus.

The coach believes that these youngsters are the future of Amakhosi and with time and proper guidance they will develop into world class players.

Here's a list of all the Amakhosi young blood during the Sundowns game:

  • Daniel Matsau – former national under-23 star

  • Jabu Pule - former under-23 star

  • Patrick Mbuthu
