Kaizer Chiefs will face AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout Last 16. “There are no weak sides,” Lorenzo Gordinho reflected on the draw that was held today at Wanderers Club, Johannesburg. “Having to face a highly competitive side like AmaZulu will motivate us to get to the next round.”

Amakhosi went into the draw as seeded by virtue of finishing fourth on the 2016/17 Absa Premiership log.

The fixture is a home match for Chiefs. The PSL Competitions Committee will soon announce the dates and venues for the various Telkom Knockout Last 16 fixtures, which, according to the league calendar, will be held in the weekend of 27-28 October.

“Weirdly enough, Ovidy Karuru sat next to me at the draw,” laughed Gordinho about his former teammate, who represented AmaZulu at the draw. “I am happy to see he’s doing well.”

“We want to go all the way to the final,” the defender concludes. “We can't wait to get on the pitch and do the talking with our feet.”
