Kaizer Chiefs continued their dismal run in the Castle Premier League when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Moroka Swallows at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday.

Chiefs, who were bolstered by the return of Jabu Pule from

suspension, were expected to give a better display of themselves

until he was substituted on the half time mark by Marvel Malatsi

after a crunching tackle by Swallows' George Lekgetho.

When Arthur Zwane scored Chiefs' only goal in the 51st minute

from a move that involved Malatsi and Shaun Permall, Swallows

started to panic until the pacy Lucas Sebone came in for Abraham

Isaaks.

Sensing the slow Chiefs defence, Sebone took on Gary Golstone

and Rodney Thobejane and outpaced them. He then laid on a neat

passed for substitute Sisa Nombe who obliged in the 69th minute

with an equaliser after keeper Brian Balloyi was left in no-man's

land.

Before then, Amakhosi were given a scare when Swallows' Naughty

Mokoena broke through, and with only Balloyi to beat, decided to

shoot straight at him and the Chiefs keeper was able to parry the

ball for a corner.

Amakhosi have now lost 13 points from a possible 16. They have

moved from 11th to 10th position while Swallows are still perched

at the top, with 32 points from 16 games, an average of two points

a game.
