Kaizer Chiefs will be looking for back to back victories when they will walk through the tunnel of the FNB Stadium tonight to go head to head with Maritzburg United.

Amakhosi booked a 3-2 win over Highlands Park last weekend. This time the visitors come in the tricky form of the relegation haunted Team of Choice.

The Glamour Boys have been boosted by the news this week of the one-year extension of Bernard Parker’s contract and the promotion from the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy of defender Njabulo Blom.

For the first time after two months, the towering figure of Mulomowandau Mathoho appeared to go comfortably through his drills at training on Friday. Lebogang Manyama is also getting closer to full recovery. Both are due for full training in two to three weeks’ time.

Itumeleng Khune (shoulder) and Happy Mashiane (toe) are still working out in the gym and will not take part in tonight’s Absa Premiership fixture.

A look at the previous five outings show that Amakhosi have the upper hand over the Team of Choice:

  • Maritzburg United 0-0 Kaizer Chiefs

  • Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Maritzburg United

  • Maritzburg United 0-2 Kaizer Chiefs

  • Maritzburg United 1-2 Kaizer Chiefs

  • Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Maritzburg United

Kick-off at FNB Stadium tonight is at 18:00.
