Kaizer Chiefs had six Glamour Boys representing their respective countries in Afcon 2019 qualifying rounds played during the October 2018 FIFA international break.

Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and full-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele played twice a full game for South Africa during their encounters against Seychelles. The two back-to-back matches produced four points for Bafana Bafana with a 6-0 home win followed by a goalless draw away on the island of Seychelles. The result leaves Bafana Bafana in second spot in Group E with eight points, one shy of table toppers Nigeria.

Zimbabwe travelled to Kinshasa to tackle DR Congo and came back with a 2-1 victory, although they only managed a 1-1 draw at home. Khama Billiat and Teenage Hadebe represented Zimbabwe in this Group G battle for a ticket to Cameroon in 2019. Khama opened the score early on in the drawn match only for his Amakhosi teammate, Teenage Hadebe to cancel the lead with an unfortunate own goal. Zimbabwe leads Group G log with eight points, three ahead of second placed DR Congo.

Goalkeeper Virgil Vries had a great outing with Namibia in Group K. Namibia conquered Mozambique twice with Vries keeping a clean sheet between the sticks at home. The scorelines of 2-1 and 1-0 ensured Namibia are joint top (seven points after four games) with Guinea-Bissau in Group K.

Godfrey Walusimbi and Uganda enjoyed 3-0 and 2-0 victories over Lesotho in Group L. Uganda is riding the wave of the crest in Group L with ten points, five clear of the chasing pack.

With the FIFA international break coming to an end, the Kaizer Chiefs players will be returning to Naturena to prepare for the upcoming Telkom Knockout Last 16 fixture against Black Leopards. This cup game is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21 October at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30.
