Kaizer Chiefs would like to confirm with immediate effect the termination of contract on mutual consent of midfielder Hendrick Ekstein. The midfielder was promoted from Chiefs Development in October 2013.

Also, the Club released from his contract midfielder Khotso Malope. Malope was promoted from Chiefs Development in July 2013 and has since been sent on loan to various Clubs including Moroka Swallows.

Gustavo Paez joined Kaizer Chiefs in January 2017 and will not have his contract renewed. The striker joined Chiefs from Venezuelen outfit Sociedad Civil Estudiantes De Marida FC.

“Yes, it is a matter of work in progress at Chiefs,” said Bobby Motaung, “when we sign players we do so with the best of intentions. Bringing any player at Chiefs is with a view for a successful partnership. But sometimes things don’t work as planned. I wish the players all of the best going forward in their new endeavors.”

Motaung confirmed, “It is a norm that at the end of the season we will consolidate all the technical reports and decide on the way forward for next season. All other player movements will be announced in due course.”
