Chiefs reserves hold Amajita to 1-1 draw

The Kaizer Chiefs reserve side played to a 1-1 draw against the South African national under-20 side Amajita in a friendly game at Edenvale on Tuesday.

Five Amakhosi youngsters have been to the Amajita preliminary squad and academy coach Farouk Khan said he was very impressed with the performance and that both sides had good chances.

"For me it was an opportunity to give youngsters who have not been selected tom the squad a chance to display their skills," he said. "This game also gave us an indication of how these boys would perform against some of the best players in the country."

Gabon youngster Steven - who has been invited to train with Amakhosi reserves -gave the Naturena youngsters their only goal.

Amajita got their goal through Bush Bucks youngster Shaun Haschick.

The five Amakhosi players Bevin Bouers, Buti Sithole, Damien Cornelle, Jason Derbyshire (all defenders) and midfielder Asanda Malesela.
