Kaizer Chiefs would like to send heartfelt condolences to Thabo Mooki and his family for the untimely loss of his eight months old baby, who passed away over the weekend, after a short illness.

We know how much a pain and trauma this sad experience puts on our brother, Thabo and the family.

Children are a blessing from the Lord and when it happens that they do not leave longer than we expect, it is only God, the giver of life, that has answers to all our questions but we thank Him for the experience He has given Thabo to be father of the young child for the eight months in this world.

It is through a painful experience as this one, and the debris of hopelessness that God manifests His love and protection to us, to soothe our pain and heal our wounds.

To the Mooki family we say, seek your refuge from the Lord and He will protect you.

Be comforted in the knowledge that “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want”, Psalm 23:1.

Meanwhile, we were shocked with the sad news of the death of one of the Premier Soccer League staff members Cyril Nekokwane, who also passed away over the weekend.

Nekokwane served the PSL and the entire football fraternity with distinction in executing his duties as an administration staff and driver of the league.

We send our condolences to the family of Nekokwane and the PSL for this painful loss.

We remember Cyril as a very humble and hard working gentleman, who never left tasks given to him unfinished.

His contribution in football administration will never be undermined and so his departure leaves a scar to all of us who were privileged to know him.

May His soul rest in peace!
