Kaizer Chiefs are finally back at FNB Stadium this evening for their first home game of the new season at this iconic venue, against AmaZulu FC in their fourth DStv Premiership match of the 2023/24 campaign.

Chiefs are still licking their wounds after suffering a defeat at the hands of TS Galaxy last week. Equally frustrated are the visitors, who are winless so far this season. Both teams will want to change their fortunes this evening by registering their first win of the season.

There will be a number of changes in the team due to certain players being unavailable for the match. Two changes are to the starting line-up and three come on the bench, with Itumeleng Khune, George Matlou and Happy Mashiane joining the 20-man squad.

Amakhosi coach Molefi Ntseki will be delighted to have Ashley Du Press back in the team after missing the last match. The nippy player has scored two goals in the three matches he has played so far this season. He will start today’s game ahead of Ranga Chivaviro, who was substituted in the first half against Galaxy due to injury. Another returnee is defender Zitha Kwinika, who will come in for the unwell Reeve Frosler.

The coach will adopt a 4-3-3 set up for today’s match.

Brandon Petersen keeps his position between the sticks.

Chiefs will defend with Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango at centre-back. Sfiso Hlanti is at left-back and Kwinika slots in at right-back.

The hardworking midfielder Edson Castillo will hold the midfield again this evening. He will have Yusuf Maart and Mduduzi Mdantsane just in front of him.

Pule Mmodi is on the left wing and Tebogo Potsane runs on the right wing, while Du Preez takes the duties of being the target man.

Petersen wears the captain’s armband.

The referee of the match is xxx. His assistants are Simukele Jali and Xolani Hlatshwayo. The fourth official duties will be done by Thabo Mkhabela.

The battle between Amakhosi Amahle and Usuthu kicks off at 17:30 at FNB Stadium. The DStv Premiership match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
