Golden Arrows caused further embarrassment to local football on Saturday when they refused to play their Coca-Cola Cup match against Santos following a dispute over gate-takings.

Kaizer Motaung commented saying, "It is tragic that thing like this happen. People complain that Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates get all the sponsorship money, but how can sponsors invest in teams when they behave in this way."

He continued by saying, " the damage that was done to football yesterday cannot be calculated in moneys'. It should have been a good weekend for Cape football, but there was a lot of damage done"

Chiefs PRO, Putco also commented that, "Cape Town needed something positive after the Newlands saga where rugby officials where been against staging football matches there. Now who can blame them whe football itself shoots itself in the foot.

A visibly disturbed PSL spokesperson Andrew Dipela strongly condemned the actions of Arrows and further said the matter would be refereed to the disciplinary committee. "This is a sad state of affairs and a disgrace to the South African football," sentiments shared by Kaizer Chiefs
