Kaizer Chiefs welcome Cape Town City FC to the FNB Stadium in their last DStv Premiership game of the 2022/23 season.
Chiefs are 4th on the log, with 44 points and Cape Town City are 5th, with 42 points in the bag. With two points separating the teams after 29 matches each, Cape Town City will want to win the game and claim the 4th position but Chiefs will want to hold on and finish strongly.
Amakhosi go into the game after a tough week due to a number of injuries and ill-health that has affected a number of their players. This has forced coach Arthur Zwane to select his line-up from only 19 fit players available for the game.
The game sees Itumeleng Khune, Phathutshedzo Nange and Mulomowandau Mathoho return from injury. Another returnee to the team is Khama Billiat, who last played for Chiefs in October 2022 against Orlando Pirates. The Zimbabwean attacker will be on the bench.
Coach Arthur Zwane has made three changes as Itumeleng Khune comes on for Brandon Petersen, after the goalie picked up an injury during the week, and Njabulo Ngcobo slots in at the back, replacing Edmilson Dove, who is unwell. One tactical change sees Samkelo Zwane coming on for Mduduzi Shabalala in midfield.
Chiefs will keep their 4-5-1 formation against City.
Khune is in goal for Amakhosi.
S’fiso Hlanti is at left-back, Ngcobo joins Siyabonga Ngezana centre-back and Reeve Frosler is on at right-back.
Siyethemba Sithebe and Yusuf Maart are in midfield, with Zwane running in front of them.
Ashley Du Preez will be on the left-wing and Dillan Solomons will be on the right.
Christian Saile Basomboli leads Amakhosi’s attack.
