“I have an idea of how they will approach the game,” said Interim Coach Patrick Mabedi as he previewed Amakhosi’s last game of the season against the Urban Warriors. “I have worked with Muhsin (Ertugral) before and he’s able to vary his approach in one game.”
Mabedi shared his views when Kaizer Chiefs landed in Cape Town on Friday afternoon. Cape Town will be the center of attraction this afternoon as Kaizer Chiefs play visitors to relegation threatened Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium. Kick-off for the encounter is 15:00.
“Ajax have a number of players that we have to watch,” added Mabedi without mentioning names. “I think we will compete well against them especially when it comes to quality. We will have an upper hand.”
“I played under Muhsin in the 90s and I was captain here Chiefs,” recalled Mabedi. “And in the 2015/16 season I was his assistant coach at Witbank Black Aces. So, I know his mentality. He will know me as well and that will make for an interesting game.”
“We will give it our all,” vowed Mabedi while confirming absentees in this afternoon’s match. “Leonardo Castro is serving suspension, Captain Itumeleng Khune has an abdominal pain, Sibusiso Khumalo is out with hamstring and Teenage Hadebe still out with ankle injury.”
Mabedi revealed that goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo would be in goals in the absence of Khune.
