Open letter to Soccerzone
Open letter to Soccerzone

Have you lost your memory?

Contrary to last night's MTN Soccerzone's distasteful review of Kaizer Chiefs past season we at Kaizer Chiefs feel that this is one of the best seasons we have ever had.

Instead of Soccerzone doing a thorough job on reviewing the season, they gleefully focussed on Kaizer Chiefs' exclusion from the Top Eight!

Does the media have the right to lose their memory for the sake of nastiness?

Shame on you Robert Marawa for blatantly showing your excitement on our team’s failure to qualify.

The question is however, should one club’s exclusion from one competition be so important to form the core of your content?

We found last night's episode highly unsporting and in bad taste. Perhaps you have all gone mad? Is it a case of having short memories?

Could you not have focussed on the fact that the only other club in the Premiership to win a trophy this past season was Santos, by winning the League? Does the fact that Chiefs won 4 out of the 5 available trophies elude you? Has a Southern African Club ever won the African Club of the Year award?

We accept the setback of not qualifying for the Top 8, but we cannot sit back and watch you ridicule our club, when the facts clearly show that this was one of the best seasons we have ever had.

Shame on you Soccerzone, last night's episode smacks of jealousy and defies neutrality. You have the responsibility to report on FACTS and educate the South African Soccer loving people watching your programme. What were your objectives with this insert?

Your Company, the SABC spends millions (over R 100 000 000) buying the rights to flight SA soccer, you should consider building the sport rather than engaging in personal vendettas against SA’s most exemplary club. You know there’s no one out there that comes close to our organisation.

Love and Peace Must Increase!

Kaizer Chiefs
