Former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United coach Kostadin Papic was on Monday afternoon named as the replacement for Ernst Middendorp who was relieved of his coaching responsibilities at the Amakhosi earlier in the day.

Papic will fill the void left by Middendorp and will be Chiefs head coach for the next three months, and will begin his duties with The Amakhosi on Tuesday.



Papic was born in Serbia in June 1960 has extensive experience coaching on the African continent having being at the helm of Nigerian team Enyimba, as well as having coached The Amakhosi’s close rivals Orlando Pirates.

A truly delighted Papic when introduced to Club Chairman Kaizer Motaung late Monday afternoon said, “it has always been a dream of mine to coach a big team like Chiefs and I will relish the challenge and opportunity that comes with the territory. My aim is to ensure that my stay at Chiefs will be longer than three months”.



Papic will be assisted by Ryder Mofokeng and will be introduced to the Kaizer Chiefs first team on Tuesday Morning.
