Kaizer Chiefs midfield sensation Jabu Pule leaves for France on Tuesday night for trials with Olympic Marseille, according team manager Bobby Motaung.

"We had inquiries from Marseille yesterday (Monday),” says Motaung.

“We then requested them to send a proposal which they did and I am happy to announce that Jabu will be sent to Marseille for trails.

"After discussing the proposal with the player and the coach it was felt that Jabu should attend those trials.”

Motaung says Marseille wanted Pule for two weeks but this will not be possible as he is in the national squad for the Cosafa Castle Cup semifinal clash against Swaziland next Sunday.

"We are happy for the player and we do not have a problem with him leaving.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime and a great step in his career. We wish him all for the best and hope he will make a good impression with the French side.”

The team will not experience problems should Pule sign a contract overseas, according to Motaung.

“We have a big squad and Jabu’s departure will present an opportunity to other players to prove themselves.”

Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral had mixed feelings about Pule's eminent departure. "What can I say?

"I am sad that I am losing a son. I am parting with a player that I have groomed since he was a little boy when I first came here into a class player," says Ertugral.

"But I am also happy for him to get an opportunity like this. Playing for Marseille for definitely boost his game and I am really excited for him.”
