The Kaizer Chiefs reserve team will be on the road once more this weekend as the DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) continues into match-day three. They will face Richards Bay FC reserves at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 10:00.
Young Amakhosi began the season strongly at the same venue two weeks ago, defeating last season’s league winners Orlando Pirates reserves, before following up with an emphatic 4-2 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend in Dobsonville.
Coach Vela Khumalo is eager to build on that momentum and make it three wins in a row, especially with several key players back. “We are looking forward to a competitive clash against Richards Bay,” Khumalo says, “We are happy to have our players back, as we started the season without some key individuals due to their participation for Amajita in COSAFA U-20 and the Engen U-18 Champ of Champs. We are glad that those players who took part in these two tournaments came back with gold medals.”
With confidence high and reinforcements back in the squad, the Amakhosi reserves are determined to continue their winning run and deliver another strong performance in KwaZulu-Natal.
Supporters eager to see the DDC match between the young Glamour Boys and Natal Rich Boyz reserves can be at the Princess Magogo in KwaMashu on Saturday at 10:00.
