Kaizer Chiefs find themselves in Polokwane this evening to tackle Sekhukhune United in Match-Day 28 of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign.
Amakhosi enter the clash needing three points to secure third place and guarantee qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. Sekhukhune, meanwhile, are also fighting hard, with a top-four finish still within reach.
After 27 matches, Chiefs sit third after collecting 48 points, while Sekhukhune are fifth with 42.
This evening’s lineup sees several enforced changes in midfield. Three regular starters from the recent clash against Mamelodi Sundowns are unavailable due to injury and suspension. Mduduzi Shabalala is recovering in hospital following surgery after being injured by a brutal tackle in their midweek match. Lebohang Maboe is also sidelined, and Siphesihle Ndlovu serves a one‑match ban. They are replaced by Gaston Sirino, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
Chiefs are expected to line up in a 4‑4‑2 formation as they try to secure their position among Africa’s elite next season.
Reliable goalkeeper Brandon Petersen keeps his position, as well as the captain’s armband.
The back-four will have Bradley Cross on the left of defence, with Aden McCarthy and Given Msimango working together at centre-back, and Wednesday’s man-of-the-match, Thabiso Monyane, defending on the right.
In a diamond midfield, the holding midfielder is Mthethwa, flanked by Pule Mmodi on the left and Ngcobo on the right, with Sirino as the attacking midfielder.
The strikers are Glody Lilepo and Flavio Da Silva, who scored on Wednesday.
Today’s referee is Thokozani Mkhize. He is assisted by Bongani Matete and Oscar Tsotetsi Romeo Matibidi. The fourth official is Given Letlaka.
Kick-off time for the Betway Premiership match between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and Babina Noko is 17:30 at the new Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
The match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
