Kaizer Chiefs is not leaving anything to chance against Jomo Cosmos in the Coca-Cola Cup final at FNB Stadium and according to coach Muhsin Ertugral; Jomo Sono's men will never know what hit them on Saturday.

Still leg-weary following their 1-1 draw against Inter Luanda in the Mandela Cup final first leg, coach Ertugral took his charges through a light training session on Monday in anticipation of the big final on Saturday.

The Amakhosi mentor said he was expecting a tough and physical game against Cosmos and that he had planned according for that. "We have a number of exciting and talented youngsters," said Ertugral. "And yes, we do have a surprise in store for the final."

The last time Chiefs sprang a surprise at the opposition was in the BP Top Eight semifinal against Orlando Pirates with the introduction of striker Kenny Niemach, who had just signed for Amakhosi two days before the big occasion. The tall striker went on to score the winning goal.

Asked to elaborate on the surprise, the coach said; "We have to keep the opposition guessing and we do not want to spoil the surprise for our supporters."

Ertugral expressed serious concerns about the opposition. "They are a very physical side and I know they will be targeting Jabu Pule and I would like to appeal to the referee to protect the players," he said.

Doctor Khumalo is definitely out for the final as he is still nursing a shoulder injury, sustained in the recent car accident. The coach said he would like to have the veteran midfielder in top form for the second leg of the Mandela Cup final.

Chiefs are currently riding the crest of the wave following early successes in the current season.

The Vodacom Challenge victory seemed to have opened doors for Amakhosi as they followed that up with a BP Top Eight win and are now on course for an African title in the Mandela Cup.

First things first and right now, Ertugral is more concerned about Cosmos than anything else. "We have to take it one step at a time," he said. "Right now our focus has to be on Cosmos. We will only start worrying about other things after the Coca-Cola final."

Ertugral added: "We will go out there to play good and entertaining football. It’s going to be a different ball game all together and Cosmos will not be an easy team to play against."

Chiefs will have a full compliment of players to select from except for Khumalo.
