Kaizer Chiefs will make two trips to Egypt to face Zamalek and Al Masry in Group D of the 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup group stages. Amakhosi will also travel to Zambia to take on Zesco United.

Chiefs have previous history against Zamalek. The teams first met 31 years ago in what is now the CAF Champions League. The Egyptians, who are five-times African Champions and two-time CAF Confederation Cup winners, faced off with Amakhosi in the second round of the CAF Champions League in 1993. The first-leg at FNB Stadium ended 2-1 to Chiefs. Zamalek won the second-leg 1-0 in Egypt to progress on away goals with the aggregate scores level at 2-2.

There will also be a return trip to Zambia to face the Zesco United, a team that eliminated Chiefs from the 2018/99 CAF Confederation Cup second round, 5-2 on aggregate.

Chiefs’ final opponents in the group will be Al Masry, who finished fourth in the Egyptian League last season. This will be Chiefs first meetings against them. They will become the fourth different Egyptian side that Chiefs will face in continental competition, after previous meetings against Al Ahly, Ismailia and Zamalek. Egypt will become the second country from whom Chiefs will have met four different clubs, along with Angola.

Amakhosi will meet Egyptian clubs in the group stages of continental competition for the first time. Zesco become the second team from southern Africa that Chiefs will meet in the group stages of a CAF tournament. They met Angolan club, Petro Atletico in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League group stages.
