Bvuma back in goal
Bvuma back in goal

Bruce Bvuma is back between the posts for this evening’s Nedbank Cup semi-final against Chippa United. The young goalkeeper missed out on last week’s league fixture against Black Leopards.

Daniel Akpeyi was in goal for that encounter, but the Nigerian can’t play tonight as he’s cup-tied, having arrived from Chippa United during the January transfer window.

Bvuma did, however, play in the 2-0 win over Cape Town City in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal.

Coach Ernst Middendorp has decided to start with more or less the same line-up as did duty in that victory over the Capetonians.

One of the few changes is that Kabelo Mahlasela, who had a good game against Black Leopards last week, comes in for Siphosakhe Ntyiya-Ntiya.

Willard Katsande is another player who has made the starting line-up compared to the Cape Town City encounter, partnering George Maluleka in central midfield.

This means that Dax Andrianarimanana will play a bit more forward, being positioned behind the two attackers, Bernard Parker and Khama Billiat.

The Nedbank Cup semi-final between Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United Leopards will be played at Port Elizabeth’s Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and will kick off at 20h15.

The referee is Thando Ndzandzeka, assisted by Emmanuel De Sani and Luvuyo Pupuma.

Kaizer Chiefs’ line-up: Bvuma (44); Mphahlele (2), Moleko (18), Cardoso (4), Hadebe (20);  Katsande, captain (31), Maluleka (12), Andrianarimanana (6), Mahlasela (17); Billiat (11), Parker (25)
