In a remarkable acknowledgement of her unwavering dedication and exemplary work in the football industry over the past 25 years, Jessica Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director was elected as the First Deputy Chairperson of the African Clubs Association at the ACA’s official launch in the Egyptian capital, Cairo on Thursday afternoon. Jessica will occupy this prestigious position for the next two years.


Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung extended his heartfelt congratulations to Jessica on this well-deserved recognition. He acknowledges her relentless efforts and commitment to the growth and development of football in South Africa and on the African continent.


Jessica Motaung’s election as Deputy Chairperson exemplifies her vast knowledge and experience in the sport, and the African continent. Last year, she was appointed to serve on the Confederation of African Football’s Organising Committee on Women’s football, a position she still holds.


In South Africa, she has been an integral part of the Kaizer Chiefs operational structures for many years, playing a pivotal role in building a strong and reputable brand. Her exceptional leadership skills have also been recognized within the broader football community, most notably as a member of the Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) Board of Governors

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) was represented at the event by Acting PSL CEO Mato Madlala, John Comitis of Cape Town City and Tim Sukazi of TS Galaxy.


“Jessica's election as Deputy Chairperson of ACA not only highlights her capabilities and vision, but also serves as an inspiration to aspiring female leaders within the sport locally and on the continent,” the Chairman adds.


The African Clubs Association, which will have Hersi Ally Said, the President of Young African SC in Tanzania, as its first Chairperson. In addition to Jessica, Paul Bassey from Akwa United of Nigeria was elected as the Second Deputy Chairperson of the Association. The newly-established body’s mandate is to promote unity, cooperation, and development among football clubs across Africa.


Dr. Motaung also believes that Jessica's appointment will significantly contribute to the progress of the PSL. Her extensive experience and knowledge of the African football landscape will be invaluable in shaping the future of our domestic league.
