Kaizer Chiefs will revert to the Absa Premiership after a triumphant weekend in the Nedbank Cup Last 16, beating Stellenbosch FC 2-1. Amakhosi will next host AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 17 March (kick-off is at 18:00).

Matches between Amakhosi and Usuthu have a rich history - it’s about two traditional football foes meeting again.

AmaZulu have several players in their ranks that have previously donned the Gold and Black colours; Mabhuti Khenyeza, Siyabonga Nomvethe, Camaldine Abraw and Ovidy Karuru.

Chiefs easily beat AmaZulu 3-0 in the Telkom Knockout on 10 October 2017 with George Maluleka, Hendrick Ekstein and Siphiwe Tshabalala scoring the goals. The two sides played to a goalless draw in the first round of the Absa Premiership, which was on 17 November 2017.

Both sides lost their previous league fixture, Chiefs went down 3-1 to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, while AmaZulu lost by the same margin to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi will look at clawing back to be in contention for the league title at the expense of AmaZulu. Chiefs occupy fifth spot on the Absa Premiership log, which is eight points behind leaders Sundowns with still seven matches to be played.

AmaZulu are in 13th place, which is three points away from having to participate in the promotion/relegation play-off battle. It all means that there is a lot at stake for both sides come Saturday.

Tickets for the league clash between Chiefs and AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 17 March, are sold for R40 at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide.
