Chiefs provide opportunity for Mushonga

Former Kaizer Chiefs Academy manager Henry Mushonga has left the country to further his studies in England, thanks to the exposure he got through his involvement with Amakhosi.

Chiefs, however, would like to set the record straight with regards to the origins of the Youth Academy. Contrary to reports that Mushonga initiated the development academy, Chiefs director Hamid Muhammad says the Amakhosi directors led by Muhammad initiated the idea of a Youth Academy.

"It was in fact myself and Kaizer (Motaung) who came up with the idea of a Youth Academy and Henry was brought in at a very late stage," says Muhammad. "It is not true that he initiated this idea."

Muhammad says Amakhosi wish Mushonga all for the best in his studies in England.

"He got a lot of exposure and credibility working with Kaizer Chiefs and this is an indication of the kind of development opportunities presented to our staff," he says.
