Kaizer Chiefs Reserves turned on the style with a dominant display thrashing Maritzburg United Reserves in the Multichoice Diski Challenge on Saturday, 30th November. The match took place under sweltering heat conditions at Dobsonville Stadium. There was water break during both halves of the match to ensure the players were hydrated.

The match ended 3-0 courtesy of goals from Mthokozisi Balakazi and a brace of goals from super sub Kamohelo Hoala.

Chiefs Reserves took charge of the proceedings from the first whistle and throughout the 90 minutes. Maritzburg United Reserves barely threatened Bohlale Hleza in goal for Chiefs. Balakazi opened the score chart with a well taken shot as early at the 5th minute of the match.

At half time Kamohelo Hoala came in for Lebohang Lesako. Hoala made his presence felt with a 57th minute goal and followed up with a 77th minute goal. Coach Arthur Zwane effected all his substitutions. Hoala was one at half time, followed by Yaseem Bunting coming on for Balakazi and Tshepo Mohlala replaced Sabelo Radebe.

As a result, Chiefs Reserves move back into the top 8 with 23 points after 16 outings.
