Chiefs Take on Sundowns with Kambole Starting

Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazalous Kambole will get to start his first match of the 2021/22 season that comes to an end in the next two weeks. The player gets to start today’s match against Mamelodi Sundowns after coming on as a sub on Tuesday against Marumo Gallants.
Amakhosi won the game against Gallants 1-0 and will be looking to build on the victory when they host league champions Mamelodi Sundowns this evening at FNB Stadium. Sundowns were also in action on Tuesday and beat Sekhukhune 2-0 at Ellis Park Stadium.
The win against Gallants moved Chiefs a notch up on the DStv Premiership log to number 4 with 42 points after 27 matches. Sundowns are this season’s champions after collecting an unassailable 61 points in 27 games.
Chiefs will be without midfielders Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Kearyn Baccus after being added to the team’s injury list.
Apart from Kambole, Coach Arthur Zwane has made two more changes. The Zambian marksman will replace Sabelo Radebe, Baccus’ place will be taken by Cole Alexander and Leonardo Castro will come on for Bernard Parker in attack.
Chiefs will adopt a 4-5-1 formation in this match.
The goalkeeper is Bvuma.
At the back Amakhosi will pair Siyabonga Ngezana with Ramahlwe Mphahlele at centre-back. Reeve Frosler will again play on the left and Njabulo Blom on the right as it has been the case in the last number of matches.
Phathutshedzo Nange is joined by Alexander in the middle. They will have Keagan Dolly in front. On the wings will be Khama Billiat and Keagan DollTh
The main striker is Leonardo Castro.
Mphahlele will reclaim the captain’s armband in Parker’s absence in the starting team.
Officiating the match will be referee Xola Sitela. Assistants are Mervyn van Wyk and Siyanda Zibi. The fourth official is Buhlebendawo Jobela.
The DStv Premiership match between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and Masandawana starts at 17:30 at FNB Stadium in Nasrec.
