Kaizer Chiefs will turn their attention this week to the Nedbank Cup Last 32, welcoming fellow PSL side Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium on Sunday, 11 February (kick-off is at 15:30).

The last time Chiefs and Arrows faced each other in this competition was way back in 2007, when the cup was still sponsored by Absa. That game took place at Rustenburg’s Olympia Park.

Arrows won 5-4 on penalties. Itumeleng Khune is the only player from both teams that took part in that Absa Cup match. At the time, however, Khune was on the bench, deputising for Rowen Fernandez.

Amakhosi most recent Nedbank Cup victory was the 2012/13 edition. The Glamour Boys beat SuperSport United 1-0 in the final, courtesy of Bernard Parker’s extra time goal.

In the current Chiefs squad, Itumeleng Khune, Erick Mathoho, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker and Tsepo Masilela will have fond memories of the Nedbank Cup, having the 2012/13 edition gold medal in their profile.

This week, Arrows will arrive at FNB Stadium to find Amakhosi waiting to progress to the next round.
