Kaizer Chiefs will play their penultimate match of the year 2025 on Wednesday when they visit Chippa United in Gqeberha. The fixture also marks Amakhosi’s return to the Betway Premiership after two consecutive outings in the CAF Confederation Cup against Egyptian sides, Al Masry and Zamalek.
This will be Chiefs’ first league match in a month, following their 4-1 victory over Orbit College on 4 November. The November FIFA international break and the subsequent Confederation Cup fixtures followed that encounter.
Amakhosi have just two days to prepare for the clash against Chippa after their 1-1 draw with Egyptian giants Zamalek at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The hosts, Chippa United, meanwhile, played to a goalless draw against Siwelele FC in Mangaung on Saturday.
Chiefs’ technical team will work closely with the medical staff to assess the extent of injuries to Gaston Sirino and Bradley Cross, who were both forced off within the opening 15 minutes of the Zamalek match.
On the log, the Chiefs are fourth with 22 points after 11 games. Chippa are at the basement, which is the 16th position with eight points in 14 clashes.
This encounter will be Amakhosi’s second-last before the six-week AFCON break – with the league expected to resume on 20 January 2026.
Supporters in Gqeberha and surrounding areas can purchase tickets via Webtickets online or at Pick'n Pay supermarkets nationwide for R60.
Kick-off for the Betway Premiership match between Glamour Boys and the Chilli Boys is scheduled for 19:30 on Wednesday, 3 December at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.
