After going coastal for the last delivery by our players in November 2018, this time Player @ Your Doorstep came back inland to treat our supporters in and around Johannesburg.

The last Player @ Your Doorstep was in New Germany,KwaZulu-Natal, where Innocent Mzila was the lucky recipient of having Kaizer Chiefs players deliver an order he had placed on the KC DigiStore on Black Friday. The young man could hardly believe his eyes when Ryan Moon, Joseph Molangoane, Mulomowandau Mathoho and Hendrick Eksteinsurprised him at work.

On 8 February, on the eve of the 166th Soweto Derby, Olwethu Nkohla from Senaoane in Soweto got the surprise of his life when Itumeleng Khune showed up at his workplace in Parktown with the 2018/19 home jersey.

“I was so shocked. Everyone is still talking about it,” enthused Nkohla, who had ‘Vutha’ and the jersey number 94 printed on the back of the jersey.

“I’m honouring my father who passed away last month. He was a big football follower and loved Kaizer Chiefs. The number 94 is because I was born on 27 April 1994, so I decided to celebrate 25 years of democracy and freedom,” retold a visibly emotional Nkohla.

Online shopping is growing at a rapid rate in South Africa as the year 2017 saw South Africans spend over R10 billion on e-commerce platforms. The KC DigiStore is the online retail wing of Kaizer Chiefs where supporters can shop authentic Club and lifestyle gear, which came in handy for Nkohla who, with that purchase, made his first online transaction on any platform.

“It was very efficient because I can’t get to the stores to purchase. I had always known about the DigiStore because I follow the Club’s website,” Nkohla went on before adding that, “there was a lady who guided me through the whole process. She was very helpful.”

Khune was proud to have been selected to do the honours. “It’s always nice to show our supporters how much we value them – they spend their hard-earned money supporting the Club, so it’s only right that we show our appreciation,”commented the Amakhosi captain.

While Nkohla deals with his colleagues who still think he staged Khune’s appearance, a different player is preparing to surprise another loyal supporter. All one has to do is place an order on the KC DigiStore and you already stand a chance to have a Kaizer Chiefs player (or two) rock up @ Your Doorstep to deliver your order.
