Goldstone blow for Amakhosi

Gary Goldstone was beginning to enjoy his football and suddenly another injury, which could keep him out of the game for three weeks, struck.

Goldstone left the field after just 15 minutes in the first home game against Classic at Ellis Park on Wednesday. That forced coach Muhsin Ertugral to make an early substitution by brining on Cyril Nzama.

After examination the Chiefs medical team found that the player would need three weeks to fully recover from the torn calf muscle.

"The injury is very serious and we have to be very careful," said team physiotherapist David Milner.

This is a major blow for Amakhosi’s preparations for the BP Top Eight semifinal against rivals Orlando Pirates.

Good news though is that Malawian defender Patrick Mabedi will be available for the crunch encounter against Bucs.
