Gonzales, Matlou Start for Chiefs Against Royal AM

Club football is back this weekend after the two weeks of international football that we witnessed during the recent FIFA international break.

Amakhosi resume their league programme this evening against Royal AM in their sixth DStv Premiership match of the season.

During their first five-game cycle of matches, both teams collected 7 points. Amakhosi are 5th on the log due to a superior goal difference, and Royal AM are in 9th position.

Both teams won their last two DStv Premiership matches and will be looking to continue with the winning momentum when they meet this evening.

The latest signing, Jasond Gonzales will be given his first start this evening after coming on in the second half in the previous game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 first leg semi-

final a fortnight ago. The Colombian comes in for Tebogo Potsane.

The other change in the team that started the last game is Lehlogonolo George Matlou who comes in for Mduduzi Mdantsane.

Chiefs will once again adopt a 4-3-3 for this game.

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen keeps his position.

Botswana international Thatayaone Ditlhokwe is with Given Msimango at centre-back. S’fiso Hlanti will be at left-back and Zitha Kwinika play his fourth game in a row this season at

right-back.

The sensational Edson Castillo will do duty with Yusuf Maart in the middle of the park. Matlou comes in just in front of the midfield duo, in an attacking role.

Returning from his Bafana Bafana call up, Pule Mmodi is on the left flank and Ashley Du Preez will be on the right.

Leading Amakhosi’s frontline is Gonzales.

Petersen continues to captain the Amakhosi side this evening.

The referee of the match is Olani Kwinda. He will have Tumi Mohlala and Thabang Matlhong

as his assistants. Buhlebendawo Jobela will play the fourth official role in this game.

Amakhosi and Thwihli Thwahla kick off at 17:30 at FNB Stadium. The DStv Premiership

match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations -
