Our public relations officer Putco Mafani keeps us posted on latest developments from the Chiefs Village and also updates us about future plans.

First he starts with our Coca-Cola Cup victory against Hellenic over the weekend.

Dear Supporters

COCA-COLA CUP

We would love to thank all our supporters who were behind the team at the Newlands Stadium on Sunday, October 7th when we beat Hellenic. With the strong wind changing directions and a bumpy damaged pitch, the boys did well under such conditions.

Most importantly, the fact that the whole situation felt like a Kaizer Chiefs event because of the dominant presence of our own supporters was also a deciding factor. It was Amakhosi 4 Life everywhere, 30 branches, which were visible with their flags there.

That is good! We thank all our branches, which had come all the way from other provinces, the Eastern Cape, North West and Gauteng in particular. Ladies and Gentlemen your loyalty can never be undermined at any given time and we salute your SACRIFICE and LOVE for the team.

Thanks to Cecil "Chief" Motaung also for the time he dedicated to make all the arrangements and facilitate the smoothness of things in Cape Town, sometimes under trying circumstances.

THIS WEEK’S GAMES

On Wednesday, 10th October Amakhosi will visit Ria Stars in a league encounter at Pietersburg Rugby stadium. This game will start at 8pm and is surly going to be a cracker of a game.

The three points, which we have to take here will give us a chance to shoot straight to the top of the log at the moment.

We ask all the branches in and around Pietersburg to come in big numbers for this game. It is a known factor that other branches will come from provinces like Mpumalanga and Gauteng to give their undying support for the mighty Amakhosi.

On Sunday, 14th October, Amakhosi will host Club African of Tunisia in the semi-final first leg of the Cup Winners Cup, otherwise known as Mandela Cup at the Royal Sports Palace, Bafokeng. This game will kick off at 5pm and tickets are already on sale at the Ticketweb Outlets.

We have an exciting line up of entertainment for the day, including DJs from Y-fm, Sony artists, Jakarumba, Senyaka, Spikiri, and Trompies. The Amakhosi Male Chorus will perform there as well to lead the crowds in the South African National Anthem.

There will be bumper give-aways, compliments of our sponsors and Trans Cash and Carry who always give away grocery vouchers, Intercape who will give away traveling vouchers.

Intercape is busy reserving a special luxury coach with meals and refreshments for this game. The details about the fare to and from Rustenburg will be released later this week in the media.

KWANONGOMA Aids/HIV Hospital visit

This coming Friday, 12th October, Jabu Pule and Lucky Maselesele will join Chief Motaung and myself on a hospital visit to Kwa Nongoma Hospital’s Children wards. This is an over due visit initiated by founder Chairman of the supporters’ Club, Mr China Ngema. The visit is scheduled for 2pm at the St. Benedictine Hospital.

This visit will also coincide with the Miss Kaizer Chiefs, Nongoma Branch, which will be held at Kwa-Gqikazi Hall at 6pm, the same day.

Supporters are expected to donate R10-00 at the door for viewing this show. Other branches expected here are Ulundi, Eshowe, Cathedral, Vryheid and others who are still to confirm with branch secretary Muzi Ngema on 083 573 7452. We ask all our supporters in KZN to spend this day with us.

MISS KAIZER CHIEFS

Kindly continue to speed up the Branch Miss Kaizer Chiefs elimination process; we are concerned about some branches that have not submitted the particulars about their Miss Kaizer Chiefs queen. You need to send all particulars and photographs to the head office for attention: Miss Jessica Motaung or myself before the end of October. Please convey the message to your neighboring branches that may not be receiving our newsletter via fax.

We thank all the branches that have already sent us the particulars of their Miss Kaizer Chiefs queens. We need this information urgently so we can facilitate the process of Miss KC, regionally and nationally.

OTHER BRANCH ACTIVITIES

The Umtata Branch will have Miss Kaizer Chiefs on the 20th October at the Elliotdale Town Hall at 6pm. Admission hereis R10 only. All other branches who can go and support, please contact branch secretary/PRO Buntu on 082 662 5870 for further information.

EXECUTIVES SUPPORTER’S CLUB CARD STATUS

We are calling on all the branch executives to apply and renew their membership cards promptly as it is imperative for the branch leadership to demonstrate the loyalty themselves to supporters. Also, for the reason that we cannot convince people to join and have cards if we do not have cards ourselves.

The Chairman, Mr Kaizer Motaung is requesting all branch committees to write back and give us a list of branch executives who have cards now. We would love to see how many branch executives have or do not have current cards. Please send this information as soon as possible.

If executive members do not have cards, please do explain to us the reasons why.

FLAGS

You are asked to look after your Branch flags, as there are people who are stealing them. Branches who neglect their flags will have to pay for the flags that they request. Those that never received flag from us please be patient s we are processing your claims, you have to understand that we can not order one flag every day; we are waiting to have a certain number of claims so that we can make one big order

For more interesting stories about Amakhosi, please log onto our website, www.kaizerchiefs.com and dial our HOTLINE, 082 170 and you will find fresh and up to date information, newsflashes and views. Until this coming Monday, keep on with the Vuvuzela!
