Kaizer Chiefs diminutive striker Daniel Matsau has broken his leg while playing for the South African invitation side in a friendly tournament in Iran as SA XI lost 4-2 to Bosnia.

Amakhosi team physiotherapist David Milner said the medical staff had not seen Matsau yet. "He's only coming back tomorrow (Sunday) morning and he will see a specialist from then," said Milner.

Milner could not say what the extent of the damage was or the length it would take Matsau to recover.

But this injury will be a major setback for Matsau and the club as the nippy striker was begging to find his rhythm.

SA Football Association (Safa) sent a makeshift team to Iran after agreeing to replace Cameroon who withdrew at the last minute.

The SA XI has performed poorly and according to reports from Iran, the rainbow warriors lost to the lowest ranked nation in the world Oman who beat them 2-0.
