Kaizer Chiefs will travel to the Mother City on Tuesday, 27 August to face Cape Town City.

The ever-awaited Absa Premiership fixture is scheduled to take place at the Newlands Stadium in the Cape Town.

The must-see match has set the tongues wagging already especially with Amakhosi riding the crest of a wave in the early stages of the 2019/20 season.

Last season saw the two teams face off on three occasions in all competitions.

In September 2018, a rampant Chiefs hit four against one (1-4) of enthusiastic City in a pulsating game played in Cape Town. Siyabonga Ngezana, Philani Zulu and a brace of goals from Khama Billiat ensured 3 points in the travel bag for Chiefs.

In January 2019, City caused an upset at FNB Stadium with a 1-0 victory. Amakhosi made up for that disappointing night with a vintage 2 (Ekstein, Zuma) - 0 Nedbank Cup played in Mbombela in March 2019.

Two points separate the two teams after three matches played. Chiefs have 7 and City has 5 attached to their names on the log. Chiefs are on top of the log with City lurking at 6th spot.

Tickets for the mouthwatering fixture are sold at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers outlets nationwide. Tickets cost R80.

Considering it’s a midweek game and access towards the stadium will be at peak hour, supporters are urged to buy tickets and arrive early at the stadium. No ticket sales at the stadium.
