Kaizer Chiefs young midfield sensation Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been ruled out for the rest of the 2018/19 PSL season. This follows the injury to the midfielder incurred during Amakhosi’s match against SuperSport United on 15 March.

Ngcobo has suffered a torn Achilles tendon and underwent surgery on Wednesday, 20 March.

The surgery went well,” confirmed team doctor, Hashendra Ramjee. “At this stage the focus is to recoup from the surgery, before we enter the stage of recovery.”

Ngcobo will take about six months to fully recover.

As a result, the youngster, who was recently selected for the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations XI, will miss out on the FIFA Under-20 World Cup to be played in Poland in May.
