Rama and Tower start for Bafana

Ramahlwe ‘Rama’ Mphahlele and Erick ‘Tower’ Mathoho will both start in tonight’s Bafana Bafana game against Cape Verde in Praia’s Estadio Nacional. The 2018 World Cup Group D qualifier will kick-off at 20:30 (South African time).

Coach Stuart Baxter has made two changes from the team that beat Nigeria in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in June. Bronwen Williams will mind the posts instead of Itumeleng Khune, who has been suffering from a bout of flu, while Lebogang Manyama will come in for Sibusiso Vilikazi.

‘Rama’ will start at right-back, while ‘Tower’ will partner Bidvest Wits’ Thulani Hlatswayo in the centre of defence.

SA XI: Williams, Langerman, Mathoho, Hlatshwayo, Mphahlele, Furman, Zungu, Dolly, Zwane, Manyama, Rantie.

Subs: Sandilands, Daniels, Gould, Mobara, Hlanti, Kekana, Jali, Claasen, Tau, Erasmus, Grobler.
