Kaizer Chiefs’ reserve team ended the 2025/26 DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) season with a record-breaking 11-0 win over Chippa United reserves at Dobsonville stadium on Saturday.

Amakhosi led 3-0 at halftime through a Luzuko Ngqina own goal, Gopolang Taunyana and striker Naledi Hlongwane. Then they engulfed their bottom-placed opponents in a deluge of goals after the break via Egan Freese, Steven Mendes, Kabelo Nkgwesa, a Kamogelo Malefo penalty, a brace from Neo Bohloko and a second from Hlongwane, before substitute Siyabonga Gumede wrapped up the scoring with number 11.

In defence of their unprecedented DDC championship triumph last season, Chiefs ended the season in fourth place (49 points from 30 fixtures) with a statement performance to show the quality that is being expertly nurtured in the Club’s youth development academy.

In the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), Chiefs juniors made a clean sweep of RESA at Presidents Park on Sunday, with the U14s winning 1-0, the U15s coming out on top by 2-0 and the U19s edging their opponents 1-0. The U17 fixture was postponed due to the national U17 training camp, which involved multiple Chiefs players.

The next round sees Chiefs host Prestige Academy at the Village on Saturday, 16 May, kicking off at 09:00.
