Reserves go down in Derby

Kaizer Chiefs Reserves went down to their archrivals Orlando Pirates Reserves in a MultiChoice Diski Challenge It’s Massive Festival match. The intriguing Soweto Derby was played on Sunday in front of capacity crowd at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.

2-0 it ended in favour of the Sea Robbers.

Arthur Zwane and his troops went into the tie buoyant by a convincing 4-2 win over Baroka FC Reserves but found the defence of a resolute Pirates Reserves hard to break.

Pirates Reserves earned their three points courtesy of a grass cutter Simiso Bophela in the 13th minutes and a header from Katlego Ramonyai seven minutes into the second half.

Zwane bolstered his fire power upfront with the introduction of the goal poacher Sibusiso Milazi and the 16-year-old Samkelo Zwane. The tactic didn’t work out as Chiefs Reserves could not breakthrough to get something out of the game.

Chiefs Reserves remain 10th on 33 points with 24 matches.
