Dumsani Zuma was rewarded for his brace to help Kaizer Chiefs beat Chippa United 2-0 in an Absa Premiership clash on 6 November 2019 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The attacker got the Absa Premiership goal of the month award for November at a ceremony held at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Tuesday morning.

Zuma’s first goal against the Chilli Boys, which came in the 67th minute, was voted as the best goal for November. With the match still goalless, Zuma moved into space left by Lebogang Manyama, glided past two defenders before delightfully curling the ball past two defenders and the diving Chippa goalkeeper to hand Chiefs the lead.

“It was an important goal for the team,” reflected Zuma, “especially as a few players were not available for that match.”

On how he neatly placed the ball low behind the goalkeeper, the attacker commented with a big smile on his face: “It was a typical PlayStation goal.”

Speaking on receiving his award, a beaming Zuma said, “It’s a great feeling. Receiving this award will motivate me to get even more.”

Since those goals in November, the Chiefs midfielder found his way onto the scoresheet again later that same month when he scored once and set-up another for Samir Nurković, in Chiefs’ 4-0 away win on 27 November over Stellenbosch FC.

All in all, the 24-year-old midfielder has featured in 16 of Chiefs’ 17 league games this season and has played a hand in five goals, scoring three and making a further two assists. His most recent contribution arrived in Amakhosi’s 3-0 league triumph over Cape Town City this past Sunday. After entering the fray as a second half substitute, Zuma provided an assist for Nurković to net Chiefs’ second goal just past the hour mark. Amakhosi eventually won 3-0.

Zuma wants to continue having an impact for the Glamour Boys when they take on Black Leopards in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon in Thohoyandou.
