There are several transport options for the supporters attending the Soweto Derby featuring arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 4 March. Gates open 11:30. Kick-off is at 15:30.

Metrorail, Rea Vaya, KTK Transport Shuttles and Top6 Taxis have planned routes to transport the supporters to and from the stadium.

Fans wishing to use private transport to get to the venue are encouraged to purchase parking tickets through Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide for R40 (General Parking), R80 (Exclusive Parking), R120 (Premium Parking) and R300 for buses in the FNB Stadium Transport Hub. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass the road closure areas without a parking ticket and a match ticket.

The public is warned from purchasing fake tickets or arriving at the venue without a ticket.

Metrorail train services – R40 (return). The return trains will depart after the match from the Nasrec station. Trains will travel from Vereeniging, Leralla, Springs, Pretoria, Mabopane, Pienaarspoort and Johannesburg.

Top6 Taxis

Taxi fare will differ depending on distance travelled to FNB Stadium – costing from R10, with the return price cost being R12. Pick-up and drop-off points will be at the FNB Stadium Transport Hub.

Taxi pick-ups and return destinations:

Noord street: MTN Taxi and the Bridge Taxi Rank.

CBD: Bree Street Taxi Rank Commissioner and Von Weilligh Street Taxi Rank and Von Brandis Marshall street Taxi Rank.

Baragwanath: Moroka Police Station and Maponya Mall Shopping Centre.

Eldos: Kliptown Post Office Taxi Rank, Dobsonville Police Station, Meadowlands Police Station, Phefeni Taxi Rank, Cross Road Taxi Rank, Dube Station Taxi Rank and Pick-up and drop off points will be at the stadium transport hub.

Rea Vaya Bus Services

Ellis Park/Library Gardens/ Thokoza Park and C1 Dobsonville first bus leaving at 12:00 in 5 minute intervals. After the match first bus leaves at 17:00 at regular intervals. R13 Single trip; R25 return.

The buses will be operating from Rea Vaya BRT stations along Rea Vaya phase 1A and phase 1B route to FNB Stadium station.

The feeder buses will do their trips from FNB Stadium, Rea Vaya Station to Thokoza Park and then do feeder routes Ellis Park, Library Gardens, Thokoza Park and Dobsonville.

NB: Last bus times are estimates, which depend on the time the match finishes and the level of congestion along the route. Patrons who don’t have a ticket or commuter cards will not be entitled to have access to the buses or the bus platforms.

KTK Shuttles Transport

Contacts: Gumza, 073 442 7545 and Madida, 060 372 8491 A mini-bus shuttle service will be running from the following points: Parktown Station to FNB Stadium – R50 Return (R25 single trip) – Departure from 12:08 at 30 minutes intervals. The last shuttle will be at 14.38.

Match tickets are still available at Computicket and Checkers/Shoprite outlets nationwide. The cost is from R70 on Level 5, R90 on Level 1 and R170 in Level 2.
