Cross, Ndlovu back for Amakhosi against Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns welcome Kaizer Chiefs to Loftus Versfeld this evening in a high‑stakes Betway Premiership clash, with both teams aiming to solidify their positions on the log with three more points available this evening.

All eyes will be on the capital as two of South Africa’s biggest Clubs battle for crucial points. Sundowns sit comfortably at the summit with 64 points from 27 games, while Chiefs, chasing hard, occupy third place with 47 points from 26 outings.

Coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have implemented changes following last week’s encounter against Siwelele in Bloemfontein, making three adjustments to the Starting XI. Bradley Cross replaces Paseka Mako in defence, Siphesihle Ndlovu returns to the midfield in place of Thabo Cele, and Flavio da Silva steps in up front for the injured Wandile Duba.

Amakhosi are expected to line up in a 4‑4‑2 formation as they look to upset the defending champions.

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen retains his spot.

Cross will be on the left of defence, with Aden McCarthy and Given Msimango combining again at centre-back, with Thabiso Monyane on the right.

It will be an emotional return for Lebohang Maboe, who is back at Loftus for the first time after leaving Sundowns at the end of last season – he will play as the holding midfielder. He will be supported by Pule Mmodi on the left with Ndlovu on his right. Mduduzi Shabalala will be behind the strikers.

The attacking duo will be Glody Lilepo and Da Silva.

The referee charged with running the match is Luxolo Badi. He is assisted by Romario Phiri and Romeo Matibidi. The fourth official is Cedrick Muvhali.

It’s expected to be a great match with over 50 000 spectators after tickets sold out in a matter of a few days.

The Betway Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and Bafana ba style commences at 19:30 at Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria.

The match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
