George and Khama strikes up for PSL Goal Award

Two Kaizer Chiefs players are among the list of nominees for the PSL Goal of the Season. Supporters get to decide via an online vote which goal should claim honours.

A dazzling strike by George Maluleka and a Khama Billiat scorcher have been nominated for PSL Goal of the Season awards after having picked up Goal of the Month awards during the season. Both goals game against the same opponent albeit in different matches.

The Amakhosi duo headline a list of other players in the league who too have claimed the award this season.

Maluleka got the Middendorp reign off to a good start by captaining the side to a 1-0 win over SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium in December 2018. A neat passing interchange between Kabelo Mahlasela and Bernard Parker resulted in Maluleka freed up with space to stroke a finessed finish past Ronwen Williams.

Not to be outdone, Billiat served Williams with another strike at the same venue a few months later in March 2019. After going 1-0 down early in the match, our No. 11 responded by latching on to a loose ball from 30 yards out and didn’t think twice when he curled in spectacularly to level the scores.

Vote for your favourite Amakhosi goal and tell us on our social media platforms which of the two should win PSL Goal of the Season. Voting closes on Friday, 17 May 2019 at noon.
