It has been a long year for many of us with its ups and downs. Some gained and some lost – that’s just how things go in life and in football. We are however grateful that we’ve made it this far.

Many supporters travelled the length and breadth of the country following the team when we played in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Nelspruit, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Bethlehem as well as Gaborone in Botswana. This support is the reason the team is where it is today.

We finished the last season in May in tears but, we are grateful that the first half of the 2019/20 season is looking the way it does in as far as the league goes. This truly augurs well for our big year ahead, when this iconic brand Kaizer Chiefs will be celebrating five decades of existence.

Let’s use this short football break to spend time with our beloved families and friends, who were there for us throughout the year in different ways. The time to reflect on the past year and to look ahead to the new year has arrived. We need to think about how we will do better in every aspect of our lives and for those around us.

Remember those who are less fortunate and share some of what you have with them if possible. The ability to give is a blessing in itself and your gift will go a long way in changing a life, a circumstance or difficulty that someone is experiencing.

As we travel, let’s please be vigilant on the roads. Take all the precautionary measures to avoid accidents. We need each and every one of you when we celebrate our 50th birthday in 2020.

We’ve done something unique for Christmas by giving thousands of supporters a chance to be with us to celebrate Kaizer Chiefs’ 50th birthday at FNB Stadium on 8 January 2020 – a day after the club’s foundation. The gesture of giving away free tickets and absorbing all the costs comes courtesy of the board and the Chairman, who approved this initiative to ensure our supporters will be there with us.

On behalf of the club, I wish all Amakhosi supporters and others a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let’s strive to live positively and improve the next person’s life and leave this world in a better state.

Let’s show each other more love and learn to say thank you more often. The blessings that come with expressing gratitude are immense and rewarding in a very special way.

Be safe, drink responsibly, and celebrate graciously. Most importantly, let’s give love and care to the young and the elderly.

God bless Amakhosi all over the world

Amakhosi for Life!
