Fresh from Amakhosi’s Nedbank triumph, coach Nasreddine Nabi has kept the bulk of the starting XI from that memorable encounter against Orlando Pirates to face Sekhukhune United in this afternoon’s Betway Premiership match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Nabi has made two changes to the team that defeated Pirates last weekend. Aden McCarthy earns his place in the side at left back, partnering centre-backs, Edmilson Dove and Zita Kwinika, with Dillon Solomons keeping his position at right back. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo returns to the first XI in midfield, replacing Thabo Cele, who is nursing a knock.
After lifting the Netbank Cup, the Glamour Boys are looking to build on that momentum and secure crucial points to boost their chances of qualifying for the top eight.
The team lines up in a 4-4-2 formation, with, captain Yusuf Maart anchoring the middle of the park with Ngcobo, supported by Pule Mmodi and Gaston Sirino just in front of them. At the front, Nabi has gone for two strikers, with Glody Lilepo and Wandile Duba forming a partnership.
Sekhukhune United, currently third on the log, will provide a stern test for the Glamour Boys, who are ninth with 30 points from 26 matches.
