  • PARK AND RIDE
  • FNB Stadium was never designed to support high-volume private vehicle access, with only 15 000 formal bays available and public transport forming the foundation of its original planning model.
  • Following an internal assessment and a comprehensive precinct-wide parking analysis – inclusive of the available capacity at the Johannesburg Expo Centre – it is evident that we are facing a shortfall of at least 4 000 parking bays based on historic vehicle volumes for previous Derbies.
  • Despite the best efforts of SMSA, JMPD, and other stakeholders to deliver robust operational planning, the hard reality is that the volume of vehicles in the precinct has consistently outstripped infrastructure capacity.
  • Accordingly, we are making a concerted push to promote alternative public transport solutions, designed to be fast, secure, efficient, and cost-effective – providing fans with a convenient way to access the stadium while significantly reducing congestion around the venue.
  • Leave your car at Clearwater Mall, Montecasino, or Sandton City and take a convenient shuttle directly to FNB Stadium.
