Five Amakhosi supporters, winners of the Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Fan Tour 2025, watched their favourite Club play two matches in the Netherlands - against Dutch Eredivisie (Premiership) PEC Zwolle and FC Twente.
This is the reward of Kaizer Chiefs' main sponsor to its loyal football subscribers. The opportunity to win was easy, just recharge and enter the competition.
The five are part of a Vodacom delegation, which includes influencer and comedian Vafa Naraghi.
They arrived on the day of Chiefs' brilliant 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle, making themselves clearly heard around the ground.
The group was there again for the pre-season friendly against FC Twente in the Dutch city of Delden. The five decided to stand close to Amakhosi's dug-out.
When the stadium speaker at the ground announces Inácio Miguel, the group screams: "Captain!!!"
Then, not long after kick-off, one of them blows a Vuvuzela. Some of the Dutch people look on, a bit surprised. "What is that?", one lady comments, "it sounds like a cow."
Khenso Kwatsha nearly missed out on the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands. "I saw somebody was calling, but thought it was one of those scams."
It was only when she got a sms with a specific name and job title in the message that Kwatsha decided to react. She turned out to be one of the lucky winners.
"My phone hasn't stopped ringing since. Chiefs is such a massive Club!"
She is happy with the "energy of the players. It's great to see a first glimpse of how the team is going to look this season. All thanks to Vodacom and Kaizer Chiefs!"
"Let's focus, let's focus," another fan makes himself loud. Chiefs are under pressure with FC Twente having a good start.
The Glamour Boys, however, don't only defend and Mfundo Vilakazi shows his skill on one of the quick breaks forward. The simple reaction from the fans: "Dankie Mfundo!"
FC Twente is the team where Bernard Parker played between 2009 and 2011, before joining Amakhosi.
Mpho Mamabolo likes the new signings, especially Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane and Ethan Chislett. "They are all slotting in nicely. It looks like our signings are spot on."
Meanwhile, Gástnon Sirino shows his on-the-ball skills, seemingly easily moving past his marker. This was followed with a loud, "Well done, boys". To the marker of the Uruguayan player, the fans shouted: "Take that!"
"The circumstances in Holland are different from South Africa," Tsepo Tsimong comments. "It's challenging to adapt to that. That's good, the team will learn a lot of valuable lessons this way."
Tsimong, one of the five winners, is impressed with Aden McCarthy's mature performances at the centre-back position. He also likes young midfielder Thulani Mabaso, who comes from the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy.
Influencer Vafa Naraghi, who is usually just known as 'Vafa', has joined the Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Fan Tour winners to not only bring a fun element, but also, as he explains it, "some flavour".
Besides meeting all the Glamour Boys, watching two friendly matches, attending a training session and playing paddle tennis, the five also went cycling in Apeldoorn, where Chiefs have their pre-season camp.
Mope Mabitle, meanwhile, is really satisfied with the way Amakhosi played against PEC Zwolle on Tuesday evening.
"Whilst one can clearly see that FC Twente is a much better opponent," he adds. "the boys really pressed. The whole pre-season camp is a fantastic learning experience for our guys. They can only get better because of that."
"I love Thabo Cele," Mabitle enthuses. "What a player!" Other players he likes to observe are Mabaso and Vilakazi.
He feels confident about the upcoming season: "The guys really seem to click well."
"I think we are on our way back to the top," adds another winner, Pretesh Patel, who also thinks that the Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Fan Tour winners have added "a vibe for the team. We are singing for the players, we make noise, we shout... And, I have no doubt, they feel that."
Vilakazi shoots with venom at goal, just missing the target. "Good shot Obrigado" is the immediate reaction.
Kwatsha, the only lady in the group of five winners, concurs: "We are on the right track."
"I can see the hunger," Tsimong concludes. "The guys really look confident. I can see us challenging for the top two positions."
